European Association for the Study of Diabetes Eye Complications 35th Conference

The 35th EAsDEC meeting will be held in Liverpool starting on the evening of the 5th June and ending at lunchtime on the 7th June 2025.

The EAsDEC annual meeting is a focussed symposium dedicated to connecting all those studying diabetic eye complications and aiming through joint efforts to prevent vision loss from diabetes. There is an emphasis on networking, discussion and thoughtful debate.

Scientific sessions will be held in the Concert Room of St. George's Hall, a late Victorian neoclassical Grade 1 listed building, and an example of the fine architecture that Liverpool has to offer the visitor. Sessions will comprise keynote lectures, oral presentations and a highly interactive dedicated poster session. 

The 2025 main award lecture given in memory of the late Professor Eva Kohner, will be delivered by Professor Jennifer Sun, Joslin Diabetes Center/Beetham Eye Institute, Boston, USA

Satellite meetings will be held on the day of the 5th June, including the 6th Diabetic Retinopathy Screening in Europe meeting.

There will be full social programme including for accompanying persons.


Abstract submission

Abstract submission has now closed. If you have submitted an abstract you should expect to hear whether it has been accepted within the next 2 weeks.


Registration

Registration will open shortly. The following rates will apply:

Standard early £195, standard late £240

Concession early £110, concession late £180

Conference dinner for registered delegates £20

Welcome event + conference dinner accompanying persons £50

Early registration will end on the 8th May 2025.

Concessions will apply to clinical and research trainees (proof of enrolment in a training programme required during registration).

EAsDEC has a long tradition of encouraging delegates to attend with their partners.

Welcome reception, cocktails and canapes 

Friday 6th June              
Half day activities hosted by organising committee members. Families are welcome. Options depending on interest include: historic walking tours, Mersey Ferries, Water Tour, Beatles Tour, Anfield experience

Friday 6th June               
Gala dinner dance at Liverpool Museum, Liverpool waterfront
