The Norwegian ophthalmological milieu and our diabetes patients owe a great debt of gratitude to
both to EAsDEC and to the WHO publications as our political guidelines for a follow-up system of people with diabetes finally were set in 2018, ensuring a fair healthcare provision and a reduced risk for sight loss.

We did our very best to continue this unique European meeting platform in the pioneering spirit
of Eva Kohner. We aspired to the exchange of professional ideas ultimately
benefiting the diabetes population, through this combination of lecturing and low-threshold social
